Dr. Marcio Iorio Aranha is a tenured professor of constitutional and administrative law at the University of Brasilia School of Law. He is director of the University of Brasilia School of Law Center on Law and Regulation, and coordinates the Communications Policy Research Center. Mr. Aranha was appointed as commissioner to the 3rd Chamber of the Brazil's administrative Tax Appeal Board representing Brazil’s Confederation of Commerce. From 2007 to 2013, he became a visiting fellow at the Annenberg Research Network on International Communication (ARNIC/University of Southern California).

He is author and coauthor of many articles and a number of books mainly on the subjects of public law, institutional theory of law, health law, telecommunications law, constitutional law, fundamental rights, and comparative law, including, in Portuguese, "Manual de Direito Regulatório: Fundamentos de Direito Regulatório" (3rd edition, 2015), "Direito das Telecomunicações: Histórico Normativo e Conceitos Fundamentais" (3rd edition, 2015), and "Brazil's Telecommunications Law Compendium" (2014 - 5 volumes).
